Hello,

My name is Susan Blocker. Due to complications associated with a prescribed medication that my mom took while she was pregnant with me I was born with a physical disability. Back in the 50's-60's many women throughout Canada and the United States were prescribed a drug known as "Thalidomide". Thalidomide was used to help alleviate morning sickness.

Thalidomide caused thousands of babies to be born missing there arms, legs or both. I was born without arms. In spite of my physical handicapp I have learned how to function independently by use of my feet. Most people might think that my most greatest challenge in life would be dealing with obstacles that surround my physical disability.

However this is not true the most greatest challenge in my life was living through 30 years of horrendous abuse which subsequently crippled me with Depression, Suicidal Thoughts, Anxiety, Panic Attacks and Agoraphobia.

I am now 46 years old and I am proud to say that I have reclaimed my life and I have "Climbed Out Of The Spiral" of abuse. I am a SURVIVOR of Domestic Violence, Sexual, Verbal, Physical, Emotional and Economical Abuse.

Since December 07, 1996 Climbing Out Of The Spiral has provided victims of abuse with a myriad of support and online counseling services. Understanding, Compassion and Knowledge is "YOUR" key to Healing from the emotional wounds of Childhood Abuse and Domestic Volence.
